What Color Would You Be?

If I am a color,
Then I must be blue,
But not just any blue will do,
I must be the color of the midnight sky,
Midnight blue is a shadow color
A darker hue of me,
A color few can even see…

The color of the world,
Just before dawn,
And when it wakes,
It would find me gone…

The golden rays of the sun,
Is much too bright,
Giving off too much light-
Exposes too much and blinds my eyes,
But oh how I love the midnight skies…

The moon rises and gives her pale light,
Just enough to capture the dew
Just enough to let me see you,
Standing in the shadows behind the trees,
Giving my soul peace and setting it free…

Midnight blue is soft and so very wise,
Never lets others see through my disguise,
I love its beauty and its darkened hue,
This color of my soul lets me see you…

This lovely question made me stop and think,
As the moon began to sink,
Behind the lovely mountain where I live,
Hiding behind the love you give,

I wonder what color are you-
I think red the color of love,
Or maybe white like the wings of a dove,
Beautiful passion and sweet purity,
Your love has given me security,

To breathe and live another day,
To cast aside my old ways,
Accepting the blending of these two,
I feel my color changing hue,
Lighter and softer with my love for you,
My color has become sky blue…

Welcome To My World
