Listen to the rain.....what is it telling you?

As somber clouds cross the sky,
dropping tinsel rain,
And icy winds at midnight howl
their sorrowful refrain;
I hover -- still -- and watch the fire's
crooked shadows dance,
And nestle down -- without a sound --
to list'n to Winter's Chant.
