A poem about looking back for a moment but letting go...

i hear you're drinking more
and everyone's concerned
and nobody knows why
but me

i see you're talking less
and everybody's thankful
but nobody knows why
but me

how many swallows
does it take to drown the words
the angry words you slung at me
the way i said goodbye

how many swallows
does it take to drown the tears
the tears you should have cried
when i said goodbye

i hear you have replaced me
and everyone's discreet
as if nobody knows of her
but me

i saw you block her out
when everyone could see
and nobody knew it wasn't a technical difficulty
but me

how many women
does it take to cover up
the memory of the curve of my breast
when i breathed your name

how many women
does it take to block the sheen
the brilliance of my smile
when i breathed your name

i hear that this could kill you
and everyone knows it can
but nobody would plead to you for your own life without moralist intent
but me

but for all intents and purposes
i don't exist in your universe
so none will hear my pleas
but me

You heard right, I'm not drinking any less!
You hit home with this one, I love these type works, damn, I can't get those curves out of my mind.

Beautiful and sad. Maybe he just didn't deserve you?
