Private Ryan Smith is a friend of Heidi and Matt, he has also undertaken to have his legs 'done' and is being sponsored by his fellow soldiers. (Please read 'Scalped' first, I inserted them in the wrong order!)

Scalped II

Meanwhile, down at Camp Bassingbourn
Private Ryan Smith is ready to be shorn;
Held down by the men of his regiment
He’s hoping they won’t be too negligent;
For with glee, his legs they will wax
And the pain, his patience shall tax;
Then on ‘Bull Night,’ for weeks
Spit polish his legs till they squeaks!
And be voted ‘Legs of the year’
As he’s toasted with good Ale and fine Beer;
For fulfilling his part in this wager,
He’ll be served tea in bed by the Major;
But the Captain will bawl
‘In that pit you can’t sprawl’
‘Get your boots on and stand to attention,’
‘Before you end up in detention’!!
