My eyes do not see all that's to be seen,
It seems I view life through a hazy screen;
Stretching my mind's eye to figure all
I stand hunched; I stand so small
My eyes do not see all that's to be seen,
Just faint lines with doubt in between.
The loveliness of this world, I need to vision
Through my eye, not someone's revision
My eyes do not see all that's to be seen,
Nor can decode what any can mean
But my heart stretches to conceive
All what my light refuses to receive.

"My Light," in its final shape, was re-
vised by Nevine Al Seidi, the editorial
poet of "Disabailability," the poetry
book we are working on. "Disabailabi-
lity" will be a book of verse on disa-
bility by myself and Karen. Nevine is
coaching us through this with daily
prompts and technical guidance. So,
Nevine Al Seidi is the director of the
book, while poems are written by my-
self and my twin, Karen.
I thought this was a necessary expla-
nation.

My God is Omnipotent, He makes no mistakes, so disability is not possible. The world sees position, while God and all those connected to Him see potential.
You are beautiful and your best is yet to come.

Karla, I think I am very satisfied with the result here. My Light is a unique poem in any literature. And I am very happy we worked on the music ( rhythm, meter and rhyme) without altering the mood and the vision. Read it aloud a dozen times, and see how this feels in the end.. Is it Karla's, or like someone suggests: Nevine's ( who honestly could not produce this poem in a million years.. just a foreign experience to me..)
When I read it aloud, I cannot relate to it personally, but I am filled with awe at the perseverant tone of struggle and optimism. The spirit of a unique voice echoes in every line. |

| Karla, you can trust yourself, if you start to rely too much on someone else the work will become hers not yours. I like your poem very much but I have always enjoyed the distinctive voice of your poetry. |
