Seventy Four Today

A Synopsis of a family Life

SEVENTY FOUR TODAY

I turned Seventy Four Today
The family came around to say Hip Hip Hurray
There were grandchildren around galore
And some old friends whats more

How the years have passed away,
In a flash or so it seems that way,
It only seems a short time since we were wed,
Forty eight years , if the truth is said.

Years spent together in a busy life,
Of course we’ve had our share of strife,
But good times too as we lived life through,
Surviving all sorts and types of weather ‘tis true .

Children came and we watched them gow,
Four in all, with twins to give joy, although,
At times with emotions mixed, we wondered,
If it was all worth while, but we didn’t go under,

Or surrender hope, when times were grim,
And Beth my wife, hung on through thick and thin,
Raising our brood, until they have taken their place,
As useful members of the human race.

Each one a credit to their mothers care,
And pride , with which I’m glad to share,
With her, as families grow, battles are won,
In much the same way as we had done.

Where have all the years gone so quickly past,
Busy in living ,working, a lifetime through, until , at last,
One can look back and count the bonus years, past three score and ten,
Counting Blessing from the Good Lord accrued, and thank God for them.

G'day g'day

Good on ya John.

John,

Aussie Kay.

You seem to thrive
on being alive
I take my hat off to your 'Drive'
it says so much about you,
the way you do the things you do.
Seventy four
and sparkling through
and what's more
you're loyal too,
Three cheers for you.

Happy birthday John old son

and I wish for you fourty more
to on to your seventy four.
Your poetry says to me
that you're a honey bun
and so old mate
I now must state
happy

bithday John.

Tell that family of yours that I said they have to give you a great big hug
from me to you
and from all your fans too
of whom there are many.
Best wishes always
