Yesterday, I saw a girl
In the vegetable field
Chasing the cows away
With a sugarcane stick
~~
She was lovely
Lovely as a dream
And I was mesmerized
By her heavenly gleam
~~
Her smile
Was akin to the morning Sun
Mild, soothing and exquisite
Like a lotus in the pond
~~
The more I saw her
The more I loved her
And I was lost within
The grandeur of her
~~
Conflict arose
Between my heart and mind
But my soul intervened
And healed the transient sore
~~
Unconsciously
The spirit of perpetual love
Drove my emotional cart and
Took me adjacent to her
~~
She was sitting and peeling
The sugarcane stick naked
With those prehensile teeth
Of her, under the baking Sun
~~
She was lost in her own world
And she noticed me not, I as an
Obedient child disturbed her not
But silently waited for her thrust
~~
Suddenly she turned her head
Towards me with utmost surprise
And scrutinized me, head to toe
From her extra precautious eyes
~~
Sincerely, she shed a warm smile
And at that very moment, I forgot
Myself from me, upon her revelation
That exemplified my hearts gratification
~~
She said, “ Hello! Who are you?”
I told her that I am her admirer
And my heart dragged me to you
For I have never seen a girl as beautiful as you
~~
Oh! It is my beauty
That dragged you to me
She questioned me back
And whispered me not to be fooled
~~
By the beauty
Because genuine beauty
Lies in the heart
And not in the physical form
~~
Confused was I,
Upon hearing that from her
And I nodded my head
With appreciation
~~
But told her that
I have already lost
My heart to her
And I wouldn’t decamp from her
~~
She laughed aloud
Like the ravenous thunder
And told me that
I am a fool to fall in love with a stranger
~~
I abruptly retorted that
Even our parents were strangers
Before they knew each other
But today we are their children
~~
She smiled back
And gave me a warm gesture
And I could feel her heartbeat
Rising like the salubrious zephyr
~~
She caressed my head
And asked me, “ Is your love for real?”
Will you forever love me the way I am? And
What will happen to me, if you change your mind?
~~
Upon hearing that from her
I replied that I don’t believe my mind
But I believe my heart and my heart says that
I was made for loving you the way you are
~~
Suddenly she grasped me
With those slender arms of her
And beneath the naked sun
We made love the whole daylong

This is excellent. You painted such a beautiful pic of meeting the right person, falling for her and getting lost in your love.

You are an MRP- Master of Romantic poetry. Though simpler, this is a thoroughlly enjoyable poem. So the sugercane worker turned out to be a sugarplum?
