Rain

Pitter patter, pitter patter, pitter patter
The rain blows against the window
Soft sounds as the rain drops splatter
Slowly building, reaching a crescendo

Lightning streaks across the darkness
Arching its way to distance places
Electrifying in its brilliant whiteness
As from the sky to earth it races

Darkness rushes back in once again
And the return of the rain's soft rhythms
Soon silenced by a deafening refrain
As thunder reverberates on eardrums

Soon the storms have passed over
Leaving the world smelling pure
And clean to all who observe her
Newly washed in all her grandeur

Well Done! With an economy of words, you have managed to convey both the sight sound and feel of awesome nature!
