This poem was written as a "response" to an article in the local press about raising funds for "Cancer Kids" Organisation, here in Melbourne, Australia.

It's winter now
But they don't mind
Not these brave men
The four elite
Who want to help
The cancer kids

They brave the winds
The rain and frost
To raise ten grand
Or even more
To give support
To cancer kids

The boys in blue
Go bald this year
For this is naught
If  you compare
With the sufferings
Of  the cancer kids

Go meet one family
Visit a home
Talk to a mother
Just ask a dad
What he wouldn't do
For his cancer lad

Do not delay
Go shave your head
Give all you can
You never know
Who might be next
To need the help
Of  Bluey Day request.

Wow, Denise, I just got through writing two on a similar subject. 'Scalped' and 'Scalped II' friends of mine were doing the same thing for brain injured children. A really good poem you have there. Jackie <> <

Nice thought. Many of the men and boys do this here also, to raise money for charity. Well done.
