finally undone

note to self ...

... erase your birthday.
return to the ranks
of the never-born;
wish yourself there
for the duration.

quit fighting your right
to throw a party.
un-become yourself.
no name, no grave.
live less loud.

after hours
after dark
inside self
inside out,
build now
a mounded cave,
all things sacred
buried deep;
to talk now
is to later weep.

words shared,
knife blades become.
give it up now.
cut out your tongue;
bleed out,
fail to thrive,
this last time.

hush now,
no whispers,
not a peep;
no soft murmurs
or talk before sleep.

sentries and snipers
are posted everywhere,
trip wires,
booby traps,
shhhhhh ... quiet.

survival of the fittest,
nothing but a joke;
blow out the candles
on this insane hoax.
