This sestina was written as an exercise. I realize the envoi doesn't fit the normal scheme, but the message is clear. The words come from the song TAPS. The thoughts are mine.

My friend you should comprehend that this is not the end
It wouldn’t be cliché to say tomorrow is a brand new day
The Sun disappears as the end of this day’s sphere is near
Before the moonrise we say our goodbyes to the blue skies
Hearken people of the light, all you minions of the sun
Quell your spirits, sleep isn’t death’s knell all is well

We can’t foretell what tomorrow brings; it’s just as well
As the sun descends, spend time thinking about work’s end
Consider what was begun and done in the light of the sun
Your handiwork survey be proud of what you did this day
This isn’t your true prize for it’s waiting out beyond the skies
Be of good heart and cheer, as your loved ones gather near

There’s nothing to fear so long as your dear ones are near
So at sunset sit a spell and drink deeply from life’s well
May your highs be as numerous as the stars in the skies
Make amends to all, for past the next bend could be the end
So don’t delay or there will be hell to pay for a wasted day
As this day is done, sleep peacefully while awaiting the sun

Let Morpheus have his fun during the dark cycle of the sun
In dreams troubles disappear, and soon dawn shall draw near
Feel your problems wash away as this world births a new day
A time to excel and new opportunities to do all things well
Red golden rays begin to transcend bringing night to an end
The night loses its inky disguise as the sun lights up the skies

Colors return each sunrise and light the eastern skies
Regardless of the season, day begins with a saffron sun
Each and every new day is a Godsend until our life’s end
In each creation He is sincere, and each says He is near
Your fears He will dispel, until your last mortal fare well
I say honor Him not only Sunday, but each and every day

Live life His way so you may join Him on that eternal day
Where no one ever dies and there are always clear blue skies
Many blessings He did foretell flowing as from an artesian well
Blessings, which will have just begun at your place in the sun
Where there’s nothing to fear for He promised to always be near
His hand He does extend promising happiness without end

God creates the beauty that is today, and life will never end
At our day's end, from the hills and the lake the sun is gone
Dark are the skies, but all is well, and I know my God is near

What I know about sestina and envoi ya could write volumes about. I intend to correct my lack of knowledge about this sooner rather than later because I like the rhyming in the same sentence. Also, I loved your poem. A wonderful message.
