Death has been identified as a grim reaper, an evil spirit, etc. but I see him more as a dog catcher . . . chasing us.

Nobody escapes the dog catcher!
There’s no license to roam on one’s own . . .
sooner or later she’ll ensnare you . . .
wher’er you go, wher’er you be.
She will bring down her net of misery.

Nobody escapes the dog catcher!
Lacking compassion, her heart is stone.
This gal's goal is to collar you,
cast you into the pit of despair,
but your Master is everywhere.

Nobody escapes the dog catcher
who won’t even give a pooch a bone!
‘Catching’s’ her job -- give her what's due
Have faith, ne’er bite the hand that feeds you--
obedience isn’t something new.

Nobody escapes the dog catcher
though some recline in their Masters’ home.
