"An Evening With You..."

An Evening With You: Storm Bride

The night is cold and dark,
It is raining outside,
But I am safe and warm inside
This softly lit room…

It thunders outside,
And the lightning flashes,
I go to the window,
And peer into the night…

Feeling the forces of nature fight,
Clashing in the eerie gloom,
And the lights flicker in the room…

I sense you then,
Standing behind me,
And you reach out to take me
In your arms,
Keep me safe from harm…

Come away from the window you say,
But I’d rather stay-
The storm and I,
We are one you see,
And its fury does not frighten me…

The energy striking the ground,
The wind making that howling sound,
Awakens something deep within,
And I am as I have always been…

Electric impulses traveling up my arms,
When you touch my skin,
You feel the sparks on me,
And I wonder if you can see,
The flame in my eyes…

I feel so wild and free,
I love you holding me,
Your eyes softly aglow,
And I know you feel it too,
The passion of the storm,
Is also in you…

Softly you kiss my lips,
And stare into my eyes,
And we both think back
To another night…

Once so long ago,
When we first met,
The storm brewed anew,
And our love grew…
From that first night,
Becoming something
We could never fight,
I knew then,
I belonged to you…

I feel your sweet face,
Feeling so safe in your embrace,
Loving the way you smell,
And I can tell,
You feel those memories too…

You called me your storm bride that night,
And I remember how we danced in the rain,
How I loved the raindrops
Dripping from your lips,

Could not help but reach up and kiss,
Those drops away,
How much I loved that day,
And now it is here again,

And you take me in your arms,
As we open the door,
And dance in the rain once more…

You've captured this beautifully.
