we all remain children when it comes to our mother/child relationship

Be careful what you say to children
for little ears do hear, taking your
utterances into their minds and souls
words from mothers lips are gospel
they mark life from cradle to grave
children of eighty or more repeat words
left on time, they can still be heard to
say, "Mama said."  In pain they will
still call out her name, receiving
solace in the very sound and sometimes
I believe hear her voice say, " I am here"
