Heard From A Bird

Imagine another Dr. Dolittle talking to the animals.

Heard from a birds’ beak
(his voice but a tweet)
the neatest words I ever heard. He said,
“I am but a bird but I heard the Word:
God, our Creator, loves me.”
He lives in a tree, scourges for food
if he can believe, then why not me?

Heard from a bird, words
that made me complete.
“Everyone’s spirit lives infinity--
we each can choose our own eternity.
God gave us life then set us free.”
Saw the bird kneel high in the tree.
How great His word if the birds have heard.
