Danger Deadly

I've been putting off posting this poem. I'm not entirely happy with it. I guess I'm just insecure. Anyway I'm back.

Danger deadly hungers for blood
Of hero and villain alike
Heroes and villains alike fear the flood
Held back by the moldering dike

Their grandfathers' grandfathers united as one
Built this wall in times of old
And now it crumbles; the time has come
For stories to be openly told

Of how men and women of the village once strained
To save their homes from the surge
How the wall was completed just as the rains
Began to fall; yes! now sins will be purged

For the rains come again and the dike needs repair
All hands are needed this day
United in need once again and it's fair
To tell that the children watching will say

To their children don't fight, there may come a time
The rivers all rise to put fear in your eyes
And put your own children's sweet lives on the line
Don't fight if you wish to be wise

Strong message, and the last stanza really got to me! It hits on some of my own personal issues. I have missed you and your work! I haven't been here that much either, a lot of goings on since summer started! lol!

I don't know why you felt it's not ready... I can't imagine what you would need to improve on this superior write.. Smile it's brilliant!
