UNLOCK THE CHAINED UP DOOR

EARTH MOTHER ROAMING FREE
DO YOU LOVE YOUR UNBORN CHILD;
IS LIFE GOOD FOR THEE?
EARTH MOTHER ROAMING FREE
WHAT WILL THY INFANT SEE?

MAN OF STONE
DO YOU FEEL
OR RECREATE LIKE ME
SO WITH REALITY
WHEN ALONE
YOU CAN CAST AWAY THE STONE
AND HELP THE WOUNDS TO HEAL?

PART THE WATERS
FILL THE EMPTY SEAS,
NAIL A FIGURE TO A CROSS
HANG AN APPLE FROM A TREE;
SHOW ME NEW HORIZONS
I HAVEN'T SEEN BEFORE,
TAKE THE HUNGER FROM BY SOUL,
UNLOCK THE CHAINED UP DOOR.

CHOICES LIKE VOICES
CRY OUT TO BE HEARD,
NEW MOONS
CAST A GLOW,
BUT HAVE NOT FACES
NOR WORDS.

VINTAGE YEARS PASS---
NOTHING STAYS THE SAME,
TOMORROW DOESN'T LAST
YESTERDAY IS NOW A NAME;
NOW IS JUST A DAY
LIKE MUD THAT TURNS TO CLAY.

PART THE WATERS
FILL THE EMPTY SEAS,
NAIL A FIGURE TO A CROSS
HANG AN APPLE FROM A TREE;
SHOW ME NEW HORIZONS
I HAVEN'T SEEN BEFORE,
TAKE THE HUNGER FROM BY SOUL,
UNLOCK THE CHAINED UP DOOR.

TOUCH THE AIR---
FEEL THE WEIGHT
THAT LIES WITHIN YOUR GRASP;
SMELL THE RAIN,
THE HOUR'S LATE;
AND---NOTHING
IS THE ONLY THING
THAT LASTS.

Very eloquent poem, an excellent write. Sad, though.
