I hate it when I feel this way,
When darkness takes away my day,
I hate my hands when they shake,
Don't know why I cant just wake,
And feel the beauty of the world,
Not let its sadness get me so down,
Feeling like I am buried under the ground...
Don't even know why,
but I want to cry,
And the sadness in my heart whispers;
”No you want to die...”
I push it away,
And smile for you,
But this feeling lasts all day,
Was it something you said,
That made me feel dead,
Laying my heart open
For all to see?
What the hell is wrong with me?
I cant be alone when I feel like this,
I will seek the bliss
Of that keen edged blade,
Feeling who I am began to fade,
Walking like a ghost among you all,
Seeking to take that final fall...
Sure I have pills to make me sleep,
But when I wake,
I still weep,
Feel such sorrow in my bones,
Wanting only to be left alone,
Yet knowing if I do,
This will be the last time I see you...
So I sit in the room,
And listen to all of you,
Tell of joy and hope,
Love lost and found,
And try to cope
With this sadness in my heart...
Shadows wake and venture to close,
Lithe fingers that grope
For mine and try to intertwine
Their lives with mine...
How do I chase them away?
When you cannot stay-
Can never touch my lips,
And tell me how much you miss
The feel of my soul
As we kiss…
I hate it when I feel this way,
Wishing all the world will just go away,
Yeah I know its me,
But even that doesn't help me see,
A way to escape this hell
As I drown in a sea of memories...

| Your artistic poetry truly transcends the depths of the heart not acquired by many. You really know how to take one to the depths of the soulful spirit! Most excellent is your work. |

I think most of my poetry is this sea of memories.. Sweetie they are sometimes my only friend.. that is not a good thing. Now I am trying to focus focus focus.. but it is so hard at times. Go for a walk in a beautiful place.. try to be around children as they sleep as they play.. remember this life is only the beginning for all of us.. This seems to help me most of the time. You are so wonderful and talented.. you have the world and just don't realize it. ..
Be well my friend! |

Dearest RD, I know this feeling all too well, but this isn't about me, it's about you.
You feel like you're going to die... but you won't. Your life will go on and one day soon, you'll wake up and think to yourself,"he wasn't the very first thought I had this morning". Time will pass and you'll start to have little glimpses of who he really is. We only see the good when we're in love. The bad things are there, we just overlook them.
When it's time, you'll be over him.
There is no better feeling in the world, than to know it's finally over.
I felt your heartache in this poem. I wish I couldn't feel other peoples pain, but I do.
Your heart is in this piece and it shows.
There's something better in store for you. When you work your way through this...it will come.
Loving thoughts are with you.
Bonnie

| How well I know this feeling, the reouble is you just want to wallow in it, and don't want any help. That's the worst of it. Hard to come out of it sometimes. My best to you, and hope it passes soon. Love your poetry! |

This poem is excellent, Retta. I love all your poetry that I've read. The feelings that inspired this one could use a pick-me-up. Dear, dear! Go to a dance, go canoeing down a stream, do something exciting to change directions. I know, free advice is worth what you pay.
Best regards,
