Texas, my Texas, with its wide open plains,
Texas, my Texas, I've fallen in love again,
Texas, my Texas, with its ever changing skies,
Texas, my Texas, I'll defend her 'til I die,
Texas, my Texas, land of opportunity,
Texas, my Texas, you've opened your heart to me,
Texas, my Texas, is now where my heart belongs,
Texas, my Texas, is the name of my new song!

You're from TEXAS if you know...(Anonymous)
...armadillos sleep in the middle of the road with their feet up in the air.
...roadrunners don't say, "Beep Beep."
...there are 5,000 kinds of snakes here, and 4,998 of them live in Texas.
...there are 10,000 kinds of spiders; all 10,000 live in Texas, plus a couple of brand new ones nobody's seen before.
...possums will eat anything.
...raccoons will test your crops and let you know if they are ripe.
...if it grows, it sticks. If it crawls, it bites.
...NOTHING will kill a mesquite tree.
...you cannot find a country road without a curve from corner to corner.
...a tractor is NOT an all terrain vehicle, they WILL get stuck.
...the wind blows at 90 miles an hour from october 2 until june 25, then it stops totally until october 2.
..."onced" and "twiced" are good words.
...it is NOT a shopping cart, it is a buggy.
...fireants consider your flesh as a picnic.
..."coldbeer" is actually one word.
...people really do grow and eat okra.
...green grass DOES burn.
...ain't nobody's biscuits better n' gramma's!
...when you live in the country, you don't have to buy a dog...people will drop them off at your gate.
..."fixin to" is one word, and it IS a word.
...there's lunch, than supper. NOT dinner.
...you work until you're done, or until it's too dark to see.
..."j'eat?" is actually a phrase, "did you eat?"
...you measure distance in minutes.
...stores don't have "bags," they have "sacks."
...you know what "cow tipping" and "snipe hunting" is.
...you only own four spices: salt, pepper, ketchup, picante.
...you know the four seasons: almost summer, summer, still summer, Christmas.
...going to Wal*Mart is known as "going Wal*Martin'" or "We're goin' to Wally World."
...you don't like the weather, wait five minutes, it will change. (Except in summer.)
...when Mama ain't happy, ain't NOBODY happy!
...you describe the first cool snap (below 70 degrees) as chilly.
...you drink a Coke, regardless of what kind of carbonated beverage it is (unless it's a Dr. Pepper).
...you understand these jokes and send them to your friends!
