I long for a day
when I can see the sun rays
through the clouds
When my spirit rest in peace
A time without soulful pain
A place where your words can't touch me

Everyday you take something else
A little piece of me
of what makes me who I am
Your words cut me
They painfully rip me apart
The names you've called me in
your cruel angry way

You make me cry
Then call me a baby
According to you I can do nothing right
My self worth is shattered
My self esteem nonexistent
You took it all

I try and try for you
And you take it all as if it's your due
My nerves scream when you are near
I am in constant fear
I never know what is to come
And you don't care

You took it all
You were to be my protector
The one to cherish me
 To love me unconditionaly
Our children see and hear it all
But you don't care, you see it as your due
No matter if it makes them fall
Takes their self esteem too

You took it all
You make the money and so are the dictator
That's what you say and believe
But  if I had the courage to leave
you would miss me

You just keep taking from me
Leaving me nothing to survive with
One day you'll be sorry though
The suns rays are going to break through
that cloud and my spirit is
going to find that place where
your words can't reach and
Finally I'll have some peace

I sincerely hope this isn't a true story. It is a well written poem about what love isn't. Well done.

This one reminds me of one of my own poem "Landslide of Your Words". Good expression indeed!
