Faith Reborn
While walking along the darkened shoreline, searching for the light
That’s when I first noticed the brilliance of the night
Far in the distant background, it seemed to radiate
Fearing to walk closer, not wanting to tempt fate
My eyes would not divert their glance and quickly drew me near
I had a sense of peacefulness, no longer feeling fear
I heard a voice call out my name and slowly turned around
Seeing naught I was unsure that I had heard the sound
A step or two and once again uncertain should I start
I turned and shouted show yourself, I am not faint of heart
A shadow in the distance so far and so unclear
Slowly moving towards the shore, it's presence drawing near
I heard a gentle soothing voice, speak softly and with ease
My child, I come to you as I feel you doubting me
I give you all that you will need but still you look for more
My love is always here for you, why do you close the door?
The challenges I bring to you, I trust you will complete
Many times I see you stray and continue to repeat
I am a most forgiving God, I will not turn away
Whenever you are troubled, I hear the words you say
If you should view life as a test then there will be no score
Acceptance is the only key unlocking heavens door
With that the vision disappeared and I was left alone
So much going through my head, I quickly hurried home
So often I have questioned truth and accepted lies
Now with focus and clear vision, this is my reply
He alone is the answer, my only chartered course
He is the light eternal, my one true healing source
