A Moment Of Clarity In The Mists Of A Hurricane

With my third eye awakening
Dilating as the truth of life pours in
I am brought blurry photos on faded memory film.
I flip through them quietly trying to make some sort of focus.
Trying to say what should have been done earlier.
I must remember what I have to be thankful for.

My body
Beautiful, soft, healthy, so fully functional
The greatest instrument I have ever been entrusted with.
I think it does my soul justice depending on the things I act upon.
My mind in its thought process
Ideas, creativity, and individuality
My rights as a confident woman
to say “yes, no, or maybe.”
My right to stand up, speak out
Live passionately, write truthfully with out fear
of offending some one who might disagree.
If they get that offended they’re the one with the problem.
Besides who drew the line you’re crossing anyway?

I’m thankful for every pointless, stupid, good, great, phenomenal,
even sometimes unbelievable days of my life
Can I really say I’ve truly lived?
I am twenty one years old, have a two year old son,
barely been out of the Confederate States of America.
Well, yes I have lived an indescribable life with so many good people
and so many bad people
There has been so much pleasant sorcery,
but so much evil and black magic.
There have been so many happy drops of tears,
so many rivers of pain.

Every milli second of the majesty
Or betrayal was worth it all
It doesn’t matter what you have to do to get there
Just be there when it happens.
These are not things you do not already know, they’re reminders...
I want to remind you of yourself
Making you reminiscent of your last good hearty laugh,
the best ice cream you’ve ever eaten,
or the first time those all powerful words” I love you” were spoken.

Oh, how precious every moment of every day is.
This is to remind you of how fleeting time can be, how fragile life is,
And how your every little “nothing” is like
a roll of dice in your quest for something.
So Above all MAKE SURE that all your risks count
Don’t blow it!
The days aren’t long enough nor do they come often enough
for wishes, should haves, or could haves.
“It’s a long road to Eden sweetheart don’t go sweatin’ the small stuff.”

This is very well crafted and so very true. Janet xoxoxoxo
