Love or Lust?

Was your marriage blessed in heaven
On the day that you were wed,
Did the vows you had to make
Pass from your heart to God
Or where they spoken by lying lips
To get no further than your head?
An empty promise that echo’s hollow
At the altar where you stood!
An Eros love that will not last
Beyond the marriage bed.

I am enjoying this new work season of Yours... "Vows" is one of them.

"Vows" is not only a - notice kind of warning - but also a good teaching.

I thank You.

I just happened to interview a woman for a position with the company I work for yesterday. She has great experience in social services and working in battered women shelters. Talking to her was a wake up call that knocked me off my chair.
I don't want to know the real world...I just don't.
It gave me a new look at vows. People make these vows and they don't know what they are doing or what they are in for.
Vows are good, but too many people are not good enough for them.
Yes...much to think about.

Excellent poem with good points to ponder.

(I pulled my 9/11 post, because the last stanza has mistakes in it. Just wanted you to know that is not how it was written it got messed up in the editor, and I have corrected it).
