tips spelled backwards is spit

you said ...
if i spit on all my knots
they will never come loose,
and you showed me how,
your brown hands and muscular wrists,
artful and limber, precise, in every stronghold.

i said ...
it's a lot like tying jewelry,
as i shadowed your movements,
my own delicate hands and beaded wrists,
fly-tying and spitting to catch a firm hold,
in order to pull gems from the shimmering lake.

... he loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, so he wets the knots.

It demonstrates the truest love for two people to spit in front of each other. Ah, spit.

Great write, anne. Nice to see those of the female persuasion enjoying the fine sport of fly-fishing.

In fishing we wet the knots we tie, and when we were detaining people back in the war, we would wet the ties that bound them, the more they dried, the more they wished to talk to us. A tight knot must be wet. first.
