I saw a shallow sea surf by
my place of pain possessed by I.

‘she wallowed in the surfing sea
aware how shallow life could be’

I saw a spiral vortex fall
and lance the pain possessed by all.

‘she swallowed vortex, blood and bone
became aware with quiet moan’

I saw a shining wind looped tight
and wrapped in pain possessed by light

‘she flowed wind-shine into her mind
and knew the pain processed by kind’

The seems deep but with a bouncing, non-threatening rhythm.

Erin, you've been very 'inside' yourself of late.. layered, solo-sounding. It's producing some lingering moments. Pain ultimately allows us to recognize and rejoice in the 'pain-free'.. you are an inspiring poet, madam. love, katy xox.

Wicked, wonderful word-weaving, Erin! Very, very interesting and quietly searing. There's more going on with these words than revealed on first read... a sign of good poetry!
