I donít know where it started
Or where it all went wrong
The only thing I know for sure
Is youíve been gone too long

For you I wanted happiness
You know how hard I tried
But I never could remove
The lonely look within your eyes

Was there something you were seeking?
Something I just couldnít give?
Is it something you have finally found?
In this new life you live

Perhaps someday youíll call me
To let me know that youíre alright
And Iíll no longer wonder
As I lay alone at night

Perhaps I would not be alone
If I had realized
Just what it might have been?
That put the lonely in your eyes
