SO OFTEN WE AMERICANS EQUATE HAPPINESS WITH MATERIAL POSSESSIONS. TRUTH IS WE OFTEN END UP WITH THINGS WE DON'T NEED BUT STILL OWE MONEY ON.
THE STARLIT SKIES SPREAD ACROSS THE HORIZON TO REVEAL A COOL BLUE
PROJECTING A SOFT MOONLIT GLOW OVER THE MOIST GLISTENED DEW DROP GRASS
SHADES OF TAN AND BLACK FRAME THIS SIGHT
NO STIRRING OF MAN NOR BEAST AS THE NIGHT GLIDES BY
TIME FOR SELF REFLECTION, TIME FOR THANKSGIVING FOT THE DAY PAST
SOULS INSIDE WALLS SLEEPING AT EASE
IF ONLY THEY KNEW THE SWEET SMELL OF NIGHT AIR
THIS THE TIME TO BE OUT AND ABOUT, YET THEY SLEEP
AS THE NIGHT PASS AND THE SUN STIR
ALARMS SOUND, SOULS STIR, NOT AWARE OF THE MAGIC THAT HAS PASSED
THEY ARISE AND PREPARE TO RUN, WORK, DRIVE HURRIEDLY TO THEIR DESTINATIONS
CURSING THE ACCOMPANYING SOULS IN THE DAY NOT SEEING
THE LANDSCAPE, NOR PARTAKING THE SWEET AROMA OF THE FLOWERS IN THE AIR
THIS THEY DO HUNDREDS TO THOUSANDS OF DAYS UNTIL
ONE DAY THEY RETIRE, NOW THEY PREPARE TO EXPERIENCE LIFE
BUT, TOO LATE, AS THEIR SIGHT IS NO LONGER GOOD, SENSE OF SMELL NO LONGER ACUTE
BONES CREAK AND THEY CRY OUT IN PAIN, DESIRE ESCAPING AND APATHY NOW STAND
DID WE KNOW THAT ALL THE ENERGY AND STORING FOR TOMORROW WOULD BE USELESS TO US
WOULD WE REPEAT, IF WE KNEW THE YOUTHFUL YEARS WASTED WAS THE TIME TO TAKE PLEASURE IN THE TREASURES NOW STORED

|Great write, Trina. And then there are those who never think of the morrow, didn't know they'd live so long. It would be nice if we could hit a happy medium (nothing against mirthful fortune tellers, though. LOL).

"USELESS STORAGE", a poem that flows from the womb of knowledge, dances on the stage of life, and under the sounds of the drums of wisdom recites a message from the wise...
This poem, "USELESS STORAGE" could be titled "A Paean To Good Sense", for this is its main message.
I am glad that my eyes are privileged to read a poem of the magnificence of "USELESS STORAGE".
I Salute You, wise and inspired Author Poet Trina Green.
