Youíve told me that you care for me
Iím sure thatís what you said
Youíve even called it love before
Or was that just in my head?

Sometimes I think Iím losing it
You go from lukewarm to freezing
No matter how hard I try to do it
For you there is no pleasing.

I guess things could be so much worse
At least thatís what Iím told
Itís just I thought at rainbowís end
There would be a pot of gold.

Companionship is good and securityís nice
But where is the romance?
Iím getting tired of shuffling along
When Iíd really rather dance.

What makes this poem so difficult and sad is there seems to be no silver lining to be had. But buck up, silver linings come in all assorted sizes and seek you out even when times are at their worst. Hang in.
