Blind Faith

You’ve told me that you care for me
I’m sure that’s what you said
You’ve even called it love before
Or was that just in my head?

Sometimes I think I’m losing it
You go from lukewarm to freezing
No matter how hard I try to do it
For you there is no pleasing.

I guess things could be so much worse
At least that’s what I’m told
It’s just I thought at rainbow’s end
There would be a pot of gold.

Companionship is good and security’s nice
But where is the romance?
I’m getting tired of shuffling along
When I’d really rather dance.

Pamela, lovely write with a sad longing.

What makes this poem so difficult and sad is there seems to be no silver lining to be had. But buck up, silver linings come in all assorted sizes and seek you out even when times are at their worst. Hang in.
