I stand on my dock in silence
Watching the sun dip down.
Shimmering on the water
Is a bright glowing ball of energy.
I am losing myself in reverie.
Sadness is stabbing at my heart
Over memories of you.
I cry out a wish for all eternity.
Let your light remain with me
For my heart beats for our love.
As my thoughts drift on the still air
I dream of what could have been,
Drawing from what was.
The sun has vanished now.
Lost below the horizon.
And you, like the light are gone.

Great title to a great image of words. As the dark falls, so shall our love.

You have expressed well those moments between suns suttle glow and darkness... the silent longing we often feel. Kudos, dear lady.

This one brought tears to my eyes...I can feel the pain, but the picture and the poem allowed beauty to shine through the pain. Best wishes to you! ~Z~

I sense a part of you in this poem.
I liked poetry that can bring a tear.
