Indian Princess Standing in Power
August 23, 2003
She was a princess, woman and mother to all
She glittered in power veiled in mysterious origin
She walked as a goddess, yet was only a girl
All bowed of heart as she passed
All saluted in reverance lofty and tall
All know kings, princes and warriors rule,
Yet the Indian princess yielded not to such tradition
She ruled in wisdom, and enlightement was her forest
She spoke with the wind and beasts alike
Thunder was her plaything, lightning her smile
Some thought to conquer her, envy their lot
But boldness became her, bowing did not
She winked at adversity whilst arrayed in free
Her power demonstrated in her songs
That lit up the night sky bright
She waded through warfare and sidestepped no enemy
She was a princess known of all far and wide
Her power was of the heavens, her beauty beyond
She longed however for only one
Her warrior of heart, known from before birth
Many longed for her, and pursued her favor
Kings, chiefs and princes alike, yet to no avail
Her heart belonged to him, known from before time
She heard him in the wind, felt him in the sun
Saw him at dawn and draped across the sunset at days end as well
He was the warrior of the wind
Each breeze bedded her in his heart
Each gust kissed her heart with his lips
She knew he was in wait, she knew he would come
She waited only for him, as he awaited her somewhere in time
