I hear you at the door Haven't you hurt me enough Do you want to hit me again Do you want to play rough Does it make you feel powerful To beat me this way Your anger overwhelmes you And I have to pay Does it make you more of a man To make me feel small When you see blood on my face Does it make you stand tall When flesh meets flesh Does it give you a thrill Does it make you a big man No matter how I feel Does it make your ego soar To lower my self esteem Do you get a high From listening to me scream Do you think you're God As you beat me again The most painful scars you give Come from within � Linda Hill 2003

Wow this is difficult to read. It is so sad to know that absolute hell is just the normal routine for some people. This poem is telling it like it is, but whoever would strike a spouse is probably beyond reason. What a precious heart you have Linda. XO! John
