We sit under Thunder
shake as it resounds
with the majesty it demands
rumbling the sinews of our marrow
striking the core of our heart beat
reminding us
the raw power that abides in the sky
hear the crack
there is nothing to mask the
the lightening that follows blazing strike
exclamation mark
to the humbling crack
left behind
in the playground valley

I don't think I've ever read thunder described so well as you have done here. A very moving piece.

Fan-TAS-tic write, Josephine! I love the phrasing throughout...
"the majesty it demands
rumbling the sinews of our marrow
striking the core of our heart beat
reminding us
the raw power that abides in the sky"
Incredibly terse and arresting description of the phenomenon that goes beyond its mere physical effects! Great!

I used to sleep to the sound of thunder, till I realized it was lightening that caused it... lightening scares me... thank you for sharing such an intense write...

Excellent, Josephine. Having recent experience with a very close lightning bolt and accompanying explosion, I relate to the poem very much.
