my hand tucked in yours, fingers peeking out
you holding on tight, making me secure
walking slowly in the park down a path
in the dusk of the day, I know I am yours
having no need to wonder if you are mine
I can tell from the way you move with me
for only souls that have become one
can move in unison as we do

as the first star twinkles down upon us
you lift my hand to your lips, so cool to the touch
kissing my palm, bending the fingers closed
you say to me, take this and hold if for me my dear
one day I will ask you to return it to me
then you walked away into the star lit night
I could still feel your kiss, so I placed my hand
on my lips just to kiss you, until we meet again

I've always considered a kiss on the palm to be far more romantic than on the lips, and you've conveyed that image of romance very well.
