A veteran actor toward the end of his career stands in the wings and prepares to go onstage.

Spotlight on, smile lit,

godparents’ son set to steal

the scene; cast take care.

[I am sad to announce that my "aging actor" cousin passed away in early February 2006. We will all miss him. Now, he is with his parents, my godparents, acting up a storm in heaven.]

Very nice Senryu. The challenge of saying so much with 17 syllables is too much for most. You've handled it wonderfully.

I have to agree with Deborah,
interesting form of poetry, 4-6-4 in syllables.
At least I think that is what it was? It was a great three lines of wisdom and new life happening to an old age actor. Tells the world that one can never stop growing and loving. Even at the young age of "say 61"? That is how old my Mother is at the moment. I am the baby of the family and just turned 34 years.

Excellent poem!
