This just wrote itself.. I simply loaned my fingers to it. Amazing!

Flock is the wrong word.
A herd of birds just flew by;
Had me out of my chair
Over to the window
Mouth gaping
Audibly gasping

Nature, my eye!
This was Alfred Hitchcock stuff.

This bunch would snicker at stale bread,
Throw back wilted popcorn,
Spit out mere sunflower seeds.

Nope!  These guys are looking for
Sirloin steak and twice-baked potatoes.
Possibly your first-born!

Mob mentality!  Yikes!

This is reminiscent of Magpie nesting season :):)

Good one Katy

PS Every time I think of Alfred Hitchcocks Thriller, I think of those two dear little love birds in the car, that leaned with the corners on their perch. :):)

It was one of the few movies that still haunt me and I love birds! :-) Boy you know it if you have been attacked by one. I have a friend that is terrified of birds because of an attack.

Bravo Katy!! The imagery in this is excellent, has a "on the edge" feeling, which I love in poetry, since I myself teeter there quite often! lol!
Your voice is always fresh and different with each post!

Haha!...LOL! This reminds of the movie "The Birds" very much. Good write!

Beware that they don't get as wild as the birds in Stephen King's "The Other Half"...That could be r-e-a-l-l-y scary!... :)

eeewwww Katy! This gives me chills! I remember watching that movie as a child and had nightmares forever! Now I watch it and wonder why it had that affect. Our lives have become so gruesome compared to how they once were that now The Birds seem quite tame. You stand not alone, so put your fears away.
Great write Katy! ~SH~
