Sweet lines winnowed wild,
Expressing physical lust eternal
As internal beauty non-Aging;
A sorry statement,
Love reduced to nothing
Beyond a slight after-glow
Of a glorious coupling.
Where is the advance of Truth,
Of simple and regular
Day-to-day boredom?
Words of Romance cant no sense
Of the true path of Love,
Daily Irritants habitually foiled;
Basis only
For easier breath;
Not great fantasy of Joy,
No wonderous culmination of Dream.
Cold reaction only,
Not governed by Passion;
Propelled by mutual interest.
Great fanfare early abandoned
In the non-fire of shared Tasks;
One trusting the Other
Through long practice,
One understanding the Other,
Each knowing the next move
Clinging together for safety.
