I Am Going to be Sixty

I wrote the this poem when I turned 50, thinking that was terribly old. I changed the title when I turned 60 and thought, "now I am ancient." Presently, at over 70 years of age, I sure wish I were 60 again.

I AM GOING TO BE SIXTY?

                        Where  did it go,

                        the  glow ?

                        When did I get old,
                        the skin fold,

                        Around the eyes,

                         And the thighs?

                        The mirror told me,

                         but I did not see

                        until now.

                         How?

                        Could I be SIXTY?

(FEELING my age is another story; at times, i feel 84, thanks to uncle arthur; wish i could evict him, but he won't leave my body alone! stupid achy joints! LOL) cute write!
