Whispering Winds

The winds blow through the trees,
Making them shiver,
And they whisper among themselves,
That someone new has entered the forest,

Walking along the trails,
They watch him,
And warn of his coming,
Whispering to me;
“Beware,
A stranger draws near…”

They warn me of the beauty
They see in your eyes,
The whispering winds,
Led me to you,
Warning me to beware
Of the love they see inside…

On a path of dark beauty,
I heard a sound,
And turned to find,
You staring at me…

I could not bear the sadness
In your lovely eyes,
Nor watch the tears fall
So silently to the earth below…

And I went to you,
Though the winds whispered
“Stay back, stay away…”
But I could not that day…

Nor any day after,
I loved you,
From the first moment
You came into my view…

I held your hands,
And felt the love flow,
Filling my heart,
With peace and beauty,
Ah, but my trust is slow,
And the winds whisper;

“You don’t know…”
But I do,
I know one thing alone,
I love you…

My heart whispers,
You love me too…
Shall we sit here forever?
And listen to the winds whisper
A new tune?
