On this orange morning we stand
Gazing into this lighted daze
of the coming white haze
This mirage of a dream
slinks along side the bed
as we awake that day
to face what lies ahead

On this strange apparition
We see a sky white
A lake blue where flowed
A meandering brook
emptying all these memories
which reflected back to us
Our life’s journey

On the orange-pink morning we spied
The horses in clover filled meadow
Surrounded by a foggy mist
within flowed our tears of last night
This mirage of a dream
which lingers along side the bed
welcome lovers back again

On this stage of human events
Our kisses were stale
We see a sky white
A pale horse awaits me
I ride away hooves pounding
in my beating heart
where flight has no wings

Only dreams did fly so high
The night the sky hazed white
The midnight dazed starlight
flowed into a milky way
As we slept our minds drift
in and out of loves’ longings
Our sorrow abated illusively

Lovelorn souls lost in this fog
This mirage of a dream
This sky white

A wonderful one. I can almost see the white sky and feel what you wanted us to feel when you wrote these lines.

Wow, Dale, I may have to pass my "Profound Crown" over to you!! This piece aches with humanity and insight. Love the image of "sky white", like an obliteration of...everything that should be. One of your best!! :)
