Sprite Full Nite
Late one night, a woman slumbered
On and off, throughout the night
She tried counting sheep in numbers
But stayed awake, and tossed in spite
Took a walk, out to the garden
Saw the stars, so silver bright
Restless lady, wanted pardon
From this crazy sleepless night
Something pulled her towards the waters
Of the lake, so dark and calm
Heard the whisper......."Rise, my daughter"
Voice so soothing, like a balm
In the mists, she saw a vision
By the lake, that restless night
An offer made........ Whats the decision?
Should she trust this water sprite?
You fight the battle for sweet slumber
And yet you stand here at my shore
Now is it any wonder
Your heart is searching.......for so much more?
Come and dance, upon the waters
Trust in me, she said with glee
Earth's elements are mine to order!
The waters bow to my decree!
Then the woman's body lifted
In the air, upon the breeze
As a sweet wind, she was gifted
Floating over ancient trees
Like a baby, she was cradled
Twirled around, in silent sound
Cooling mist, almost prenatal
Sprite, this mother newly found
In the shadows loomed a figure
Riding on the night wind too
A sleepless soul, over the waters
His outstretched hand, came into view
Strangers dancing in the moonlight
Music of a summer's breeze
Water nymph, with cupid's delight
Stardust arrows shot to tease!
In the morn, the lady wakened
Tired, yet refreshed and new
Was she dreaming of this strange night
And had her dreams been shared by two?
