come to the festival of the harvest moon
we will walk a crooked path under a  paper lamp
climbing to the highest hill for our lights to be seen
down in the glens the farmers will still glean
using the light of the large moon of the equinox

sup we will on moon cakes and drink rice wine
searching out hidden fillings in our cakes of delight
be there dates, red bean paste or a golden egg yoke
when the candles in our lamps devolve and dim
we will look for the fair maiden of light, with fairy wings
as she flies cross the moon of magnificent luminance
