Moments are life's precious pearls, gently strung
Upon that old, tenuous thread of time.
Trivial baubles, amusing the soul,
Illusive and priceless for body and mind.
Give me but one of those fragile gems,
And I'll not ask for more.
Its delicate beauty will change my being,
From how it was before.
Sharing its iridescence awhile,
I, too, will be of worth.
Hiding my fears in translucent layers,
Its glow will give me birth.
If I could hold on to that moment,
And keep it close to me.
I would cherish its wonder forever,
Not wanting to set it free.
I would nourish it with remembrance,
Preserve it from decay.
It would be my one lasting keepsake,
When all else had passed away.

|So beautiful and so true. It's crazy, so many things that we have and take for granted; yet, so many things, we long for and wish to have....Beautiful work once again, thank you for sharing...Alma|

|This lesson to me is simply this: By preserving, we appreciate; and by letting things pass on, we too, like sand picked up by the waves of time, move on.

|This is nice...rather like an aside or the musings of one in deep thought...|
