please..

Not now.
Not yet.
You shall not have her

you thief
you lurking crow
you cannot have her.

I will not
I will not let you
I will not let you take her from me

I will not give her up to you
I cannot give her up to you.
Not yet.

Not yet.
Please.
I beg you.

She is not ready to fly away with you.
I am not ready for her to go.
Please.

leave us be.
For now.
Just for now.

Give us a just a little longer please.
Not forever
I don't expect forever but just a little longer.

That's all I'm asking.
Just a few more hours.
Please.

You've been stealing little pieces of her
of her life
of my life

Because She is my life.
She is my entire life.
And you've already taken so much of her.

Even now
even after you've been picking
picking at her flesh

See how special she is.
How brave she is.
Look how the life still sparkles behind those eyes

Let her have that little life
for just a few moments more.
Let me cherish that life for just a little longer.

I don't know how to fight you.
I don't know how to stop you.
I beg you please just a little longer.

I will give you anything for just a few minutes more with her.
She is all that I have.
Please.

Please.
Not now.
Not yet.

Wow, this makes me think of death and no matter how it is intended it is well written and gives the reader their own chance at interpretation.

The genius of this piece is that it can be directed toward many individuals. My own interpretation is of a father about to lose his daughter to a suitor. Great write, jing.

Great pieces lend themselves to interpretation. Your piece allows the reader to journey down many paths. I read this many ways; as a struggle to hold onto youth, love, sanity, and life itself.
Bravo, Jing!
