I cry for the sick children
Who can't run or play
Looking out there window
To just another day
I cry for the lonely
They know who they are
And for that sad, broken
Man crying in a bar
I cry for the homeless
Sleeping in the cold
For the man who lost his wife
No one to hold
I cry for the Mother
Searching for her child
For the disabled men and women
Who's forgotten how to smile
I cry for that lost soul
Holding a gun to his head
Despair feels his heart
He'd rather be dead
I cry for the hungry
The depressed and sad
For the tears of a child
Who's just lost her dad
I cry for the people who are
Struggling with pain
For the hearts that are broken
And going insane
I cry for the babies
Who won't be born tonite
Because someone thought
Abortion was right
I cry for our country
The red, white and blue
Praise for our veterans
Is long overdue
I cry for the Sept.11th horror
That brought us to our knees
For the suffering and the hurting
May God hear our pleas

Thoughtful work, Linda. We create the mess. No wonder God turns a deaf ear. Sad.

I'll stand right beside you, Linda with the Kleenexes in hand. So much suffering in this world and often times, so senseless.
Great thought-provoking write and much enjoyed.

A beautiful write, Linda. (In this line: "He'd whether be dead", you might want to change "whether" to "rather") (?)
Terrific write!

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. A triumph in poetry, and the picture goes so well it almost recites the words itself.
