I like the morning
But I really enjoy the evening--
Taking the cool night air
As free fuel for working
And poetic discovery.
I like chatting
Across a coffee table
But I love to drink
Amongst friends, with open ears--
Learning of life through loosened lips.
I like introspective writing
But I hate extrapolated babblings--
Taking the freedom of air
As a license to go on and on,
Wasting time without a care.
I like confident people
But arrogant ones rattle my nerves--
For that artificial barrier
Distances them before the start.
Besides, the confident ones are friendlier.
I like potatoes
But hate tomatoes.
I would eat them if I had to
But I'd rather crawl ten miles
Before that slimy texture registered.
I enjoy the gentle breeze
But endure the raging wind--
The one perspiration's enemy,
The other havoc's kin.
I like beginnings but, unfortunately, this is the end.
