At first you were only the ghost of the dream And when I said: "I love you." In my heart I wasn't certain If I ever could You wanted to drive the 1200 miles to see me again Even after the cruelness of my silent goodbye 18 years ago when I left your life for good
I phoned you, what was it? Maybe two months ago "I want you to come home, to be part of our lives again." Your daughter was quiet on the phone and I I was the stranger who left you _________________
