Standing On The Rim…

I walk on crushed glass,
Cutting my feet,
Making them bleed,
Leaving a trail for others
Who dare to follow me,
Leaving a path,
Leading to a place,
I cannot stay…

If they are brave,
They will stand on the Rim,
Of the Edge of Time,
A place I call,
The End of my World.

And the beauty they would see!
The dark and lovely dreams…
They could listen to the empty chatter
Of a dying world-

The lies,
My god the lies,
They tell one another
And choose to believe!

Such empty promises,
Of love and life…
Such deception in the world below!
I choose to come here,

Where the film covering my eyes,
Is removed by the gentle breeze,
And I listen to the lovely oaks
Who never lie,
But reveal truth in ever sigh
Of the wind…

But you must listen carefully,
For they whisper softly,
And only those with a true soul can hear-
Only those who are without fear
Can stand here,
And stare at the cold world below,
And the lovely sky above,
And feel the love of the ancient ones,
Begin to flow once more in their veins…

I know the taste of their God’s shallow kiss,
The path that leads to nowhere in the end!
Know beyond all doubt,
The fate of those who trust too much!

Give me the burning Sun!
Let it scorch me white hot-
Flay me alive and peel off my skin,
Revealing the real me!

Thus I stand at the edge,
Of that dark abyss,
And know,
I shall not be missed,
Not by you!
Not by me…

Take my hand,
Give me my betrayer’s kiss,
And then let me go,
One last time…

And I shall fly,
Fly and be free,
Of all the things,
You believe about me…

I’m standing on the rim,
Swaying softly in the breeze,
Listening to the whispers,
Of my lovely trees…

Many mixed emotions while reading this... a sign that there is more than one way to look at things. Wonderfully penned.

This brings a primal sigh.
Poems like this can only come from the rim, and poets seldom make it there.
You did.
Awesome as can be.

I’m standing on the rim
Swaying softly in the breeze
Listening to the whispers
Of lonely trees…
And the beat of my broken heart!!

I know this lovely feeling...
All I need to do is... jump
No more more more fears!!
Everlasting rest!!

Love Tinka

I did not find darkness within this...for it spoke of a magical place that is on the same plane with those who believe in the creator's grand scheme for us all. On the plains where our ancestors roamed like the buffalo and all manner of wild beast that was under our rein and protection.
