I walk through the elementry school everyday with my dog Tyson. All the little jackets I see everyday, inspired this poem. |

Little Jackets
Little Jackets on the ground,
School kids playing all around.
Flung aside in haste to run,
A giggling mass of daughters and sons.
Little Jackets on the ground,
Kicked and dragged and pulled around,
Brand names strewn about the grass,
Shunned by tots in first grade class.
Little Jackets on the ground,
Red and blue and green and brown.
Broken zippers, buttons a miss,
All in tact at the school bus kiss.
Little Jackets on the ground,
Gathered for the lost and found.
The rich and famous, dirty mound,
Of little jackets on the ground.
