Living With The Dying

A touching, loving and spirtual insight of the dying process, filled with peace, smiles and starting on their journey, taking me with them as far as I could go, returning..

You say who the heck are you,

well I say who the heck are you,

running around here

doing mind checks,

making me feel like I’m the one,

but you ain’t told me that I’m the

one you call on Sunday,

never told me about the

Monday night naughty fight’s

and that don’t include me

‘cause it ain’t me you're kicking it with

in between the sheets

waiting for Tuesday to come by,

She’s quick, and perhaps the one

to almost blow your mind,

your hoping that she’ll be the one

from Monday through Sunday,

but she’s only a one nighter

then, Wednesday comes, and she ain’t bad,

she could be the one, probable the best

you thought you ever had

Thursday comes around,

now she’s got what you need

and you’re both the same,

and knowing all of this,

you know it ain’t right,

and it will never add up,

so it ain’t gonna work

Friday's here,

need the quiet one to settle you down,

too tired to pop, just a dinner and a movie,

and thank God,

‘cause she’s the only one satisfied

Saturday you could do the same as Friday,

but instead of a Sunday rest,  you got all

day Saturday to do yourself

and include no one in your rest

then Sunday comes

and she’s the one you’d like to stay,

but she won’t

won’t let you get in,

you're moving to quick,

move back,

your too close,

always on the verge of almost

and she won't give in,

and she's probable the one

then she blurts out,

Monday through Saturday,

and Sunday I’m just a butt

Who am I,

Who the heck are you?

Australian bush poetry - sometime bawdy, but alway fun, written in the traditional lyrical Oz bush verse style...
