Haven't we all wanted to say to someone, "how could you?" "Aren't you human?" "Don't you have a heart?" ...I know I have!!

I felt you, I did
I felt you one time
You touched me in my soul
I lived for you, my world was
all about you,
as you wanted
And now because of you
I feel I have expired.

My body still lives.
It still breaths in the heavy
air of life.
It is my soul, my mind
that has touched death.
I'm so numb, so cold
If my heart was touched with
the lightest caress,
It would shatter, crack apart

I can't think right,
my mind is in a thousand pieces.
I can't see things
as they should appear,
Nothing seems as it should.

Life to me is a drab existence
dark, empty, lifeless,
like maybe my heart isn't
even there anymore.

What have you done to me?
Why did you do it?
I loved you as you wanted,
and I waited for
the promised return of love.

Now, I have nothing
you took it all from me
and you, you are free
to do as you please
to another like me

I felt you, I did.
Didn't you feel me too?
Couldn't I reach you?
Look at me and see me!
This is what you have made of me!
I felt you, I did!

The pain of rejection is acute in this well written poem, Rhonda. BTW,your girls are gorgeous, but then so is their Mom. ~~Bonnie Q
